For almost 110 years this
memorial stood watch
over 482 veteran & widow graves at Arlington
National Cemetery
It became a marker for
its world-renowned
Jewish veteran sculptor, Moses Ezekliel's grave
after he died

Four US Presidents supported its creation including McKinley, a US Army veteran of
America's most bloody war
Over the generations, every president except
Joe Biden, placed a Memorial Day wreath in observance of the Memorial's significance
Dubbed the "Christmas Monument", it became an international symbol of how a divided people reconcilied despite unprecedented division, death, and destruction
On June 4, 1914, US President Woodrow Wilson accepted the Reconciliation Memorial on behalf of the American people. There has been a lot in the news about why the Memorial was erected, but President Wilson was there. He seems like a pretty good source.
LET'S MAKE IT PERMANENT!
Radicals in Congress want to Stop Pete Hegseth from restoring the Memorial.
Two important men in Congress have the power to block them. Will They?

Thankfully, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth announced he wants to restore the Memorial to its rightful place at Arlington National Cemetery and end the ongoing desecration of the 500+ graves it marks.
But radical members of Congress want to prevent it by adding prohibitive language to the 2026 National Defense Authorization Act, like the Strickland Amendment in the House and the Kaine Amendment in the Senate. Two Alabama officials have the power to block them and strip the prohibitive language from the final bill.
